Weight:

While we cannot guarantee you will receive a body with an exact weight, if you message us after placing your order requesting a light or heavy body, we will do our best to select the closest match we can. Please keep in mind that this is a courtesy, and isn't going to be an exact weight match.

Color:

Our colors are not officially licensed. We select color names based on historical color names and what they most closely resemble. If you're trying to get a 100% color match that may not end up being the case with this body. Color variances may be offset depending on the screen you are viewing these images on. Please keep this in mind when placing your order.

Parts Compatibility:

While our body's specifications are outlined above, as a 3rd party body that is not licensed you must adhere to an industry standard variance of 1-2mm. Guitar manufacturers spent decades creating different specifications for guitars, and not all parts will be compatible due to vintage, modern, and import variances. When you receive your body we strongly recommend doing a "soft'' build without doing any drilling or any modifications to the body.

Poor quality

Body wood was sanded extremely poorly and had tool marks all over it, the neck was completely twisted and practically unusable.

Great kit for the price

Overall, this is a great kit. Nice and light. The wood looks good. The neck joint is tight. The fret ends were a little sharp, and the frets needed some leveling, but nothing crazy. The holes for the pots are sized for the smaller metric units. If you want to use standard CTS style pots, you will need to drill the holes slightly larger. The control cavity is routed vintage size (4-1/4") so make sure you order the correct cover plate. Most modern jr plates are 5-1/4". Also the holes for the bridge bushings are drilled vintage spec, which is larger than most modern bushings you will find. The correct bushings can be found online. Test fit all of your parts and connections before you cut, drill, or glue anything. All in all this is a good simple first kit for someone with basic guitar building skills.

Needs work

It will be ok with some work. Pitted body will need more sealing. Poor neck joint, the neck does not sit flush with the body.
